Skateboards

Get ready to roll. Skateboards are one of the best recreational activities that are very popular with kids and teenagers today. Skateboarders get to cruise, glide, go downhill riding and do tricks. To get the most out of your skateboard, know its parts well, not just its board and wheels.

These parts are important to its performance during use:1.The deck is the part of the skateboard you stand on. Its size and shape is usually based on what type of skating the skater prefers e.g. vertical or street skating. 2.Trucks are parts of the skateboard that attach under and directly to the deck with nuts and bolts hardware. They has small parts like axles, bushings and kingpins. 3.The wheels are usually made of plastic urethane and vary in hardness. Softer wheels are more ideal for skating vertical while the harder wheels are much preferred for street skating. Smaller wheels are better for maneuvering tricks but larger wheels give more stability. 4.The grip tape is the self-adhesive cover on the top of the deck that provides traction during rides.
