Paintball markers alone will not give you a good game of paintball. You will need other pieces of tactical paintball gear. Most of these accessories are meant to keep the players safe. These gears are not worn to look good; they are there to prevent unwanted injuries. They may just be blobs of paint but being hit by them at 300 feet per second can be damaging.

The mask or goggles is just one piece that players should wear. These facial protectors cover the nostrils, ears, mouth and eyes of the player. Masks may be made with thermal lenses that prevent fogging. A fogged out mask will make the player practically blind. Wearing masks is mandatory when playing the game.
