On December of 2000, I met a ninja who later on became my Shidoshi. We would practice hours on end first using open hand combat then later with weapons. We would practice with stick and knives and sometimes guns. Of course we didn’t use real guns. We used an airsoft gun and played in abandoned fields.
Using an airsoft gun is ideal for our training. It looks and feels like a real gun and fires a nasty bb pellet. We would use it in our disarming techniques and we would try to fire it at our opponents. If you didn’t disarm properly, you’ll get shot. It least a bad welt, sometimes the bb pellet will penetrate enough to stick to your skin. One time I had a bad welt in the middle of my palm because I was to slow in my disarming.

Get help with your yardages on the golf course. Make use of golf GPS systems that will improve your confidence on the green. There are many advantages to using a golf GPS unit:
~You won’t have to aim it at a target to get a reading. This is advantageous if your target is not in your line or site such as when there is an elevated green or you are behind a bush.
~There won’t be any wobbling or steadiness problems as you don’t have to have a steady hand or accurate eye to line up a GPS unit unlike with a range finder.
~You won’t need to point or acquire a target nor avoid background objects.
~You’ll get greater confidence because the rounds will go smoothly.
~It will let you know the front and rear of green yardages to help you choose your club much better.
~You’ll learn to think like a pro golfer because a golf GPS unit is about smart golf.

Among the many paintball equipment, there is one that plays an important role in affecting the outcome of most scenario and woodsball games. Top scenario players know and understand the importance of using a tactical paintball marker that is versatile, durable and reliable. Still, it must be understood that the most crucial deciding factor to winning remains with the person behind the paintball gun.
Those who play on successful scenario teams usually have their designated positions ideal for their individual abilities. It is up to the squad commander, who is also part talent scout, to utilize his players’ skills to the fore by placing them in positions where their strengths will be maximized and weaknesses minimized. Aside from this, it is essential that each player has a marker that provides the features best suited for his style of play.

I’m a very athletic person. I was part of the track team in college. I also was into body building, rowing, caving, mountain climbing, and martial arts. As a result of my activities, I became a collector of sport watches. I have solar watches, GPS equipped watches, water-proof watches, stop watches that has 100 splits and watches that have heart rate monitor capabilities.
Since I have numerous watches, sometimes I neglect them. I’ll pull out a watch only to find that the battery is dead or very weak. That is why I love my solar watches. I also hate changing the batteries of my watch. Sometimes it’s out of stock. Another time I had the battery of water proof watch change. They didn’t seal it right. When I swam the next day, the water seeped in and destroyed my watch. That is why I hope all watches will have solar capabilities.

I loved grade school. I remember playing with my classmates in the yard. We would run, climb and roll in the grass. Our physical education teacher started us in different sports by grade 3. We did kick ball, baseball, basketball and soccer. I imagine it was very difficult to teach 30 8-year old kids to follow rules. Every time we heard, “game” we would cheer and just run around. I remember my first encounter with a soccer ball was when it hit me straight in the face and sent me hitting the ground.
It was a funny experience. That day we were supposed to learn how to play football or soccer, the coach told us to break down into groups of two and pass the ball using our feet. His instruction was to kick the ball lightly. We kids, with our selective and imaginative hearing, heard, “kick the ball as strong as you can”. My friend kicked the soccer ball with all his might, all I heard was “swosh” and “bog”. I saw bright lights and felt myself hit the ground. Then I heard a “thud”. Evidently it was my head hitting the ground. I wasn’t that hurt, I was more stunned and embarrassed mostly. I also felt my nose go inside my brain. I hope my son will never have to go through what I did.

When my sister and I were in New York for a holiday in 2002, we got to see the US Open live at Flushing Meadows. We got to see Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, James Blake and Andy Roddick up close during their practice sessions. We fell in love with tennis after that session. Before we flew back home, my sister bought a tennis video because she wanted to learn how to play tennis right away. We both vowed that we would take tennis lessons as soon as we got back home.
A few weeks later, I decided to start my tennis lessons. My sister who had spent her afternoons watching the tennis video was raring to go. We both got a tennis instructor who was once a competitive tennis player. He made us do so many drills before he actually thought us how to serve, hit a forehand and a backhand. We both learned so much from those sessions, I can now play tennis among my friends.

I’ve been very athletic throughout my life. I was in the track team of my school both in grade school up to college. I was fortunate enough to graduate from college without any major injuries. After college, around my mid 20’s, I noticed I get easily injured. I injured my back and wrist doing power lifting. I had knee problems during my rowing days and I tore both hamstrings and injured my knees in triathlon. I’ve always considered myself an athlete and when I get injured and have to take some time off, I feel more sickly and fat. That’s why I’m so grateful to a friend who introduced me to Kinesio tape.
Kinesio taping made me recover faster from my injury. At times I can even train while injured (just with mild injuries though). It also minimizes the pain and keeps the injured muscle from taking all the load of your action. It can also correct joint misalignments. Kinesio tape is light years away from the traditional tapes that give support but limits full range of motion.
