Golf can be a complicated sport. Golf clubs have different uses, depending on the kind of shot needed. The clubs fall into three general categories: the putters, which are used to roll the ball into the cup; the irons, which can be used for a variety of shots; and the woods, which are for long distances.
 
The gigagolf woods in particular are designed for long-distance fairway shots. Woods generally come with a large head and a long shaft for maximum club speed. Despite the use of metals such as aluminum and titanium to replace what used to be wood, the name woods has been retained to denote its use in the golf course.
